The Magazine Adapter
This magazine adapter allows in an AEP Airsoft to use Airsoft AK magazines. Which due to their size can carry more ammunition. This was necessary by the new generation of AEPs necessary, since there were no alternatives on the market I had to design this myself.
Vision
The original problem I had, which is why this started, was that the magazine was too small for my AEP. Yes, there are magazines with a capacity of 90 bbs, but if I have to carry 7 of them in a match, that's stupid. Since others also had this problem when they wanted to use an AEP as their main sporting gun. I then decided to develop a drum mag myself. This turned out to be more difficult than expected. Which is why I finally decided to use an adapter.
First Steps
The next question that arose was which magazine I wanted to adapt. It should already be a magazine type available on the market. In addition, it should be as little as possible and compact, so the choice fell on the Cyma AK magazine system, since there is a large selection of third-party suppliers.
3D Drawing
Now that the first drafts were ready, I created the whole thing on the computer with Inventor as a 3D object. The use of a modular system was extremely helpful here, as I was able to make optimal use of the available installation space of the 3D printer for prototyping.
Testphase
Finally, it was a matter of eliminating the last small bugs and ensuring smooth functionality. After some feeding issues and adjustments regarding the fit, the adapter now works smoothly.
